How do I know if my well pump needs repair?
No water, pressure changes, frequent starts, unusual sounds, or changed operation warrant an assessment. These symptoms can also involve the tank, controls, piping, or supply. Describe what changed so we can investigate before recommending a repair.
Can the pump be repaired instead of replaced?
Sometimes. A fault in a control or another component may be repairable without replacing the pump. For a fault in the pump itself, condition, parts availability, and repair practicality guide the recommendation. We explain the options and proposed work before you approve it.
My pump hums but I have no water. Is the motor seized?
Humming alone does not establish a seized motor or failed capacitor. Avoid repeatedly trying to run malfunctioning equipment, and call for help. Keep away from wet or damaged electrical components and do not open control covers. Tell us what you observed from a safe location.
Will replacing the pump fix short cycling or weak pressure?
Not necessarily. Tank performance, controls, leaks, demand, and available supply can contribute. Diagnosis helps identify the appropriate work; replacing the pump does not correct every pressure problem.
